The Entrance Girl Guides

Description
The Entrance Girl Guide Units meet at the following times at the Scout Hall – Nirvana St Long Jetty (down the lane).
Junior Guides (5 – 9 yrs) – Monday 5pm to 6.30pm
Guides (10 – 14 yrs) – Thursday 6.30pm 8.30pm
Annual Membership is $110 for 2012; Weekly subscription is $5.
Progression through Girl Guides is relative to the age of each girl. Girl Guides programs are provided by trained and enthusiastic leaders.
Our Mission is to enable girls and young women to grow into confident, self respecting, responsible community members.
Girls of 5 to 18 years have fun and learn skills that develop their self-confidence and community responsibility.
Guides meet weekly during the school term. During the year there are also opportunities to join in special activities and events outside the usual meeting time.
At meetings:

girls work in small groups

play games
-
progress through challenges
-
earn badges
-
run their own activities
Camps offer girls the chance to:

enjoy being outdoors
- learn about the environment, and
- attend campfires
Guides belong to a small group called a Patrol. A number of Patrols make up a local Unit.
Through their Patrol activities, Guides gain:

personal and communication skills

teamwork skills
-
decision making and leadership skills
-
a respect for their environment, and
-
a sense of community.
No two meetings are ever the same.
